1982:
Started taking Vocal Training in Sangeeta Academy; First Instrument –Harmonium
1986: Learnt ‘How to blow’ and ‘make a Tone In Flute
1987: Interest grown in Western Classical, LEARNT Western Classical Music esp. Basic Western Scales/Modes/harmony/Chords and Arpeggios: Musical Keyboard
1990: Malik’s Elder Brother Bought some flutes to learn but couldn’t continue. But Malik got his Musical Instrument “The Bansuri Flute”
1992: Started Learning Bansuri Flute under Ustad Abdul Bari Siddique (Pt. Pannalal Ghosh Gharana)
1997: Started Learning ‘Tabla’under ‘Farukhabad Gharana’
1998: Started Learning Piano at Dhaka International Music School (DIMS) under Associated Board of Royal School Of Music (ABRSM)
2002:Joining The First Instrumental Band “Purbo-Poshchim’; Zubair got The Award “Best Other Instrumentalist”i.e. Other than western Band Instruments
Collaboration With International Artists:
2003:Malik had Workshop in British Council Auditorium and Had A Duet Flute Playing With Michael McGoldrick And His Band
2004:Malik Had Workshop and Live Performance with Chicago Jazz Quartet at Amazon Club
2005:He also held sessions with singer Joanne Kemp and other musicians who were visiting with the London Film and Music School.
